Journalism for Social Change Project
GO Justice is seeking to recruit a small group of students who are passionate about social change and wish to work on their writing skills, particularly writing in a journalistic style. The project will be facilitated by the well-established and award- winning freelance journalist – Eve Livingston. Eve specialises in inequalities, social affairs, and politics. The project will consist of two sessions, the first session will focus on writing techniques, the importance of timing a story release, topics of interest as well as guidance around publications. The second session will be an in-person workshop where students will be expected to come with a full draft of a story they have been working on. Students will present their piece to the group in the first part of the session, Eve will then work with the group, providing feedback and guidance on each story, while also providing direction on next steps.
The first session will be held online 22nd January 3-6pm and the second session will be an in-person workshop 5th February 3-6pm. Students are expected to be available for both sessions.
